You know, this is easily solved by just having your house off the ground. This not only ensures total safety during all but a select few invasion events, but also keep house clutter off the ground meaning you have unimpeded running room. My base is always on a floating platform I build on the first day and connect to the ground via Fence backgrounds to give the illusion of it being held up by supports.
